Originally located on the first floor of an old house tucked away in the alleys of Taipei's Xinyi District, this approximately 30-square-meter extension—including a semi-outdoor area and an aging storage space—has been transformed into a bright and refreshing living space and courtyard. Through DDV’s stylistic concept development, light renovations, and thoughtful planning of furniture and décor, the space has taken on a whole new life.
The design theme combines a tropical resort vibe with subtle Southeast Asian colonial influences—for example, the style of the outdoor wooden decking, predominantly white walls, and dark wood flooring. Elements like walnut-wood armchairs, black-and-white loungers, and a classic Safari chair further enhance the colonial and holiday-like atmosphere, turning this area into a cozy and serene space full of vibrant, everyday charm.
